Parwal chane ki dalki sabzi I hope for most of the people it might be some new recipe,because for me as well it was totally new until my mother in law told me about this.My this recipe totally belongs to her ,the way she cooked was totally marvelous.She always use less spices and she always encourage me to use green chillies instead of red chillies. Here I am sharing a very healthy and nutritious recipe with no extra spice other than coriander powder and salt is used. She sometimes instead of chana dal use masoor dal for some change but to be very honest Parwal really goes well with chana dal more than any other dal,




Ingredients for making Parwal Chane ki dal :
  • 250 gm Parwal
  • 1 cup Chana dal
  • 2 onions
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 3-4 tbsp oil
  • 11'2 cup water



Recipe for making Parwal Chane ki dal:
  1. Wash the Parwal properly and soak the chana dal for atleast 1 hour.
  2.  Grind the onions,garlic cloves,coriander leaves.green chillies and add a pinch of turmeric powder in the grinder .After grinding you will get a nice green color paste for making parwal chane ki dal ki sabzi.


3. In a cooker add oil and once it get hot add the prepared paste in it and fry till it leaves oil.

4. When the green paste or masala is cooked then add the sliced parwal in the cooker and fry them for 3-4 mins.

5. After this add the soaked chana dal in the parwal and mix in the paste thoroughly.

6. Stir the chana dal and parwal in the green paste for 5 mins and then add coriander powder,

7. Don't add salt in the beginning add it now because if we add the salt before then the chana dal and parwal will not be soaked well in the green paste.

8. Mix everything again and now add water in parwal chane ki dal .

9. Now cover the lid of the cooker and cook for 3 whistles (it may vary to 4 also depending on the chana dal quality ).After 3 whistles open the lid and check if dal is not cooked then again cook for 1 more whistles.Chana dal should be cooked well otherwise parwal chana dal ki sabzi won;t taste good.

10. Your Parwal chana dal ki sabzi is ready ,serve with roti or rice and  with salad/


Tips and suggestions:
1. Grind 1 black cardamom and 2 small cardamom also with rest of the ingredients , it will give you nice aroma as well will tate delicious.
2. You can add more green chillies if you prefer spicy.
3.Don;t add other masala apart from salt and coriander powder.With only 1 masala in your parwal chane ki dal ki sabzi you will get the real taste of parwal and chane ki dal.
4.Adjust the quantity of water according your desired consistency.
5.Add salt in the last .
6. Cook in mustard oil for best taste.
